Note that the only things that will trigger this notification will be content changes in the homepage, itself - not the entire site. Thus, (should you be so inclined) you can take a quick peek to see what has been added; we do intend to add more content as time allows.

Note also that we are not affiliated with ChangeDetection.com, but have chosen to use their free service as we think this is a very useful functionality to have. We have done basic research on the company, and they do not appear to be email abusers. Searches of anti-spam newsgroups did not reveal any evidence of spamming or harvesting by ChangeDetection.com.

Regardless, we always recommend caution in giving out one's email address to anyone, and highly recommend the use of an anonymizing forwarding service whenever you want to give out an email contact without jeapordizing your online privacy. One such free service that we utilize ourselves and recommend highly is SpamGourmet.com.

SpamGourmet allows you to create special "tagged"/customized email addresses - on the fly, automatically - that forward to your "real" address, thus protecting your primary address from harvest & spam. After a user-definable number of emails to the address, it simply stops forwarding - so that if the address is harvested, you aren't doomed to eating spam forever. The number can easily be "recharged" as well, and configured so that mail from certain domains don't count toward the limit. More information may be found at www.spamgourmet.com

While we're pretty sure ChangeDection.com doesn't spam or harvest addresses, it is a free service, so you can expect that there will be the option to receive advertising. If you do not wish this (and we don't), be sure to check the settings provided to reflect your wishes. As long as full disclosure is made, and one isn't opted-in against one's will, we do not find it offensive or intrusive. We do however think you should be aware of this before signing up.
